Great dining experience! We enjoyed the outdoor "greenhouse" dining which was great because we were separated from others (covid) but still in a warm place outside. The 6 hour pig was very good and tender. The grits here are always phenomenal as well. The key lime cheesecake was one of my favorites, the only thing that I would change here would be the tres leches which was actually pretty good, but not tres leches and more like yellow cake.
What an awesome experience! Loved the atmosphere, the service was Top Shelf! Now about the food our starter was the fried green tomatoes, every bite was like biting into a fresh made BLT, we absolutely will enjoy these again! We had the Horseradish crusted Salmon and because my wife has dairy allergies farrow was served instead of the sweet potato...the chef made a great call. She loved the flavor profile that the farrow brought to the salmon. I had the scallops over grits, I know I made the right choice as soon as it was presented at the table. Scallops perfectly cooked, the grits were garnished with corn and cherry tomatoes...I will be back for more! 5 stars is not enough for The Last Resort Grill...Do NOT miss this place!!
Intimate atmosphere with dim lighting. Friendly waitstaff. Delicious food. I had the New Strugglesville shrimp pasta and my mother had the cornbread trout with grilled okra and cheese grits. We both cleaned our plates. Perfect serving size.
Sunday Brunch, Great service, excellent entrees and desserts. The Fried Green tomato sandwich was excellent. Portion size spot on! No leftovers of shrimp and grits from hubby. We will come again! Cute outdoor dining!!
The food here is wonderful and affordable! I have loved everything I've ordered. The chicken praline and the grits are especially delicious. Don't fill up too much on dinner to miss out on their wonderful selection of fresh made cakes and pies. The red velvet cake is top 5 for me and I've had a lot of red velvet cake!
The food was to die for. We had the 2 special dishes for the evening. The most tender and flavorful pork job coupled with black eyed peas and collard greens which was ridiculously good. The second dish was a red snapper and grits... ugh I can't say which was better, yet I did not have room for desert, all I can say is if you have never been here be ready for excellent service and food!
Loved this place. The host was very nice, our waitress, Georgia was exceptional and the food was fantastic. We had shrimp and grits and the pulled pork. Beautiful day for dining al fresco on G day.
Holy cow this place was so good!!!! The potato pancake was a flavor explosion of deliciousness! So much so we ordered 2. The 6 hour pig, salmon & grits, they were just so impressive! The drinks were awesome and the environment was really fun. Definitely recommend!
Everything was absolutely delicious! The Salmon & Grits was FABULOUS! The Last Resort's Praline was incredible! The trout was wonderful! LOVE the Vidalia Onion & Bacon dressing! The Peanut Butter Cup cheesecake was FANTASTIC! The paintings inside were so beautiful, too! Service was GREAT! Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!
We had the Salmon and grits and they were some of the best that I had. Place was intimate but still plenty of room. Staff was on point and my husband loved the swordfish house special. Easy to walk to if you are in downtown Athens. The mojito was great after a long day exploring Athens.
